Totsie III

Totsie III, the Trani Totsie.
We encounter stray dogs on our travels. Totsie I was on the Greek island of Evia, such a sweetie. Totsie II was in Merviel, France, also a sweetie. Totsie III is in Trani. This dog is special and very smart. It follows you around town, waits outside shops for you to return and loves attention. A real sweet personality...can you say personality when refuring to dogs? Anyway... here is Leslie giving Totsie III a good scratching.

Totsie III rolled over for some more lovin'...

And these are the new puppies at the pet store! Aren't they adorable??? I think I will bring all of them home with me.
Leslie is egging me on in this decision. She is such a good influence!!!

All Saint's Day in Trani

Today, November 1st, is All Saint's Day. It is a national holiday in Italy so Rick and the girls had the day off. Tomorrow, November 2nd is All Soul's Day and the girls also have that day off of school. We decided to see how the holiday is celebrated here so we journeyed down to the town cemetery. There was a traffic jam as so many people and cars were trying to visit.
I love this vespa with a flower bouquet waiting to be placed at the grave.

In case you didn't get your flowers there is a stall just inside the cemetery gates.

The family crypts are very ornate.

This is the family crypt of our landlord's family.

Rick is reading some of the markers on a memorial wall.
A pyramid crypt.

All of the crypts lining the walkways looked like miniature villages.
It looks like they are recycling these slots.
